FPS were instructed to oversee an extensive programme of works required to convert this GII Listed Church into 5 luxury apartments. Following planning consent and specification, FPS managed a complex network of contractors to deliver the project within budget.
The exterior of the property was gently cleaned and restored to bring out the beautiful qualities of the local sandstone. The entire roof covering of the building were removed and replaced, using original tiles where possible, but with latest in high performance insulation having been included to increase energy performance.
Conservation roof lights have been cleverly added to provide additional natural light to dwellings and flood the communal knave with sunshine. Perhaps the most noticeable part of the works, was the full restoration of the 30m spire, clad in heritage cedar shingles. Internally, the stunning stained glass and leaded windows have been fully restored and upgraded for energy performance and security through the installation of heritage friendly secondary glazed panels.
